Chilling with manipulators

I am currently distracted (EXAMS? WHAT EXAMS?!) by one particular trailer for Resident Evil 5. I have the sneaking suspicion that this game is going to out-gross even the previous one in the series (which is saying something... eurgh, the island), though I don't dare guess whether it's going to be scarier. At the same time, I can't wait for it to come out. This is because DAMMIT, WESKER! What happened to make you so full of action? (He's a very important character, in fact, but he's been mostly watching and pulling the strings from afar for a while now. AND SUDDENLY HE'S FIGHTING OUT THERE WITH A VENGEANCE!) Sure, he's a calculating somewhat-evil jerk, but I digress. He's badass. He's stylish. He means business. And he's among my favourite characters in the series for some reason, so he'd have to do something really disgusting to make me hate him yet. I only worry he might get, you know, killed since it looks like they've made him the main villain in the new game. You'd better not bite it, Wesker, you hear me? There's no Resident Evil without your... influence.

So, if you can either enjoy or survive all the disturbing stuff, watch this. It's pretty exciting, actually. Look out for the suave gentleman in a black coat. XD

You see? I don't do pretentious literary things all the time.

A lot of times a good video game trailer does better than most movie trailers, right?

I hope your favorite character makes it through :)

Seriously. You can tell they're not just bullshitting it.

Thanks, I hope so too!

... this looks SO great. RE4 was so impressive that I thought I would never be that scared any more, but the game's creators are proving me I'm wrong. :D

Look out for the suave gentleman in a black coat.
I DID. And the coat's totally gorgeous. Wouldn't fit me at all, though. XD

Wait, you've played RE4? (I must've forgotten if you told me before, sorry. *facepalm*) Anyway, I don't know if the new one's going to be so completely nerve-wracking, but it looks very cool. If it gives me nightmares like RE4 did once, I'll take it back. *is totally asking to be scared shitless by this*

Isn't it? Isn't he? XD
remecielremeciel on February 2nd, 2009 08:54 pm (UTC)
No, I've never played RE4 - but my brother did. I was really hooked by the drawings (the details on Leon's hair were just mesmerizing) and the whole story. I remember how many times we both hit the roof when an enemy (a farmer, or a priest) run towards the hero so as to 1) cut his head off, 2) shoot him so weird virus or 3) just want to share a lethal hug. XD
I'm really looking forward to the new one. The trailer is just making me all jumpy, and the grave on which the name of Jill Valentine was engraved is really intriguing.

Doesn't it inspire you? you should totally buy one. Since you're taller than me, it'll fit you. ;)

Hey, as long as you've seen it, it counts for something. It takes nerve to even sit through this! (You noticed his hair too? Yeah, it was really smooth. XD) Funny you'd mention those enemies and not the insanely creepy ones at the island. That's just... no words. But I liked almost all the characters, especially Leon and Ada (she's even more badass than Leon at times, I'd say). And Wesker, naturally. I love that minigame where he's a playable character if you manage to unlock him.
Hehe, I can't believe Jill's dead. Or at least, I hope she's faked it or something. She was in the earlier games I don't even have, but from what I've heard she's pretty cool as well.

I may be slightly taller, but I'm made of sticks. And all the cool coats start at size M when I'd need at least an S. *facepalm*
remecielremeciel on February 4th, 2009 10:19 am (UTC)
How could I have forgotten to mention Ada? I always have a fit of laughter whenever I see her wearing a long red dress, though. That's definitely not the most suitable outfit to fight against zombies. XD

I love that minigame where he's a playable character if you manage to unlock him.
Where did you find this? *utterly puzzled* And here I thought my brother completely finished the game...

Jill was in the first RE (the Zero one, I think it's called.)But well... she wasn't that interesting.

Ah, you do have a point here - I noticed the same things as for coats here. When I actually find an S one that suited me well, I almost cried out of joy. XD

I think she could only get away with such a dress because she knew how to wear it. Though Ashley's default outfit was even less suitable (the second one made more sense, and the third one is a freaking SUIT OF ARMOR that at least protects her against the enemies/friendly fire). Ada has a more practical costume in the "assignment" minigame. XD

It's in the extras! There are quite a few of them - Separate Ways (a shortened version of the main story where you play as Ada), Mercenaries (that's the one when you can unlock new characters) and Assignment (again, playing as Ada). I think that's all. HOW COULD HE MISS THEM?!

Well, I don't know that one yet. But it will be interesting to see what's happened to her now...

Good for you! It's frustrating how they only make them for way too big people. XD
remecielremeciel on February 4th, 2009 05:39 pm (UTC)
Three different outfits for Ashley?
... AH! I got it! your sis and my brother don't have the same game consoles - some options don't appear on the Nintendo 64 for RE4. What a shame, really. I'd like to see her with the armour! XD

And the options you referred to such as Separate Ways don't exist either on Nintendo 64. I'm seriously thinking about buying for my brother a brand new games console.

If they can create for her a new shiny story, I'm in. :)

*nods* Either it's too small or too big. When it comes to coats, i was more or less prepared not to find what I dearly wanted. It's actually the black coat I was wearing when I was in Prague last year (hell, time flies by so quickly.)

Ahh, I see. We just have the computer version, but it seems like it has all the features. You're missing quite a lot! XD

Maybe you have an idea for a Christmas present for him now... it's never too early. XD

I'd say it's possible!

Oh, that one. I had to idea you'd had so much trouble finding it! You have way better luck than me when it comes to coats.
remecielremeciel on February 4th, 2009 05:53 pm (UTC)
I can find it online, then. I know a place where I can download games. It's definitely worth a try.

I can save money from now on, indeed. My bro's always wanted a new one, but he doesn't have enough money for it (alas, he's thinking about eating and getting clothes beforehand. XD)

Believe me, I wasn't the only one who wanted that coat at that time. I had to glare at people so that they wouldn't take it from me. *g*
Longer coats don't fit me at all. I look like an old person who wants to look younger.
See you later, instigator: hide - Psychooudeteron on February 4th, 2009 06:01 pm (UTC)
Shh, don't tell anyone. XD

How unfortunate! I think this is your cue to be his benefactor. XD

Hehe, you know how to deal with people.
Maybe you just need to find the right one! There's a right coat for everyone... XD
remecielremeciel on February 4th, 2009 06:11 pm (UTC)
Damn! delete this thread, quick! XD

This way he'll have to let me play. *evil laugh*

Glaring at people is a good technique. They stay away from me. XD
Actually no: longer coats hate me. My silhouette doesn't fit them. At all. *g*

See you later, instigator: Toshioudeteron on February 4th, 2009 06:16 pm (UTC)
You can promise you were only joking. XD

Mwahaha, brilliant scheme.

I have to try that sometime. Especially on public transport!
Oh, okay. At least you have that one, then. XD
remecielremeciel on February 4th, 2009 06:19 pm (UTC)
The French are said to be among people who download the most. I need to be careful if the French government investigates! XD

*bows* Why, than you. :)

It works really well on public transport. ;)
Indeed. And I worship it!

You evil, evil nation! XD

No problem. :D

That's good to hear. Next time someone invades my personal space...
remecielremeciel on February 4th, 2009 06:24 pm (UTC)
And I'm still proud to be French! XD

I personally hate when someone just gets closer to me as though I wouldn't mind about it - they actually are so close sometimes they even touch me! *shudders*
It's so gorgeous that I'm thinking about building it a temple. Xd

Lucky you! XD

Yeah, it's pretty irritating. And I really doubt the other people there enjoy it, so it's fail all around.
It may be a good idea... XD
