Now that this has been posted everywhere

I am of course spreading the insanity.

TEASER TRAILER FOR DEATHLY HALLOWS

Is that Gellert at circa 1:00? I'm certainly not the only one who has noticed the similarities. Also, I think the setting is badass, and "badass" => "Gellert". In my head, at the very least, but it's not unfounded. Therefore, this better be Gellert. "Well, he fuckin' BETTER be..." /gratuitous but appropriate parody!Leon quote

This is so early to be excited about DH and what becomes of the book in the movies, but damn!

Allow me to squee then wail when realising it's the last book that's finally adapted. God, time does go by quickly when it wants to. *shakes head*
I did try to decipher whether I could see something at 1.00 but so far my eyes are not as quick as they used to be. I'm off to check this out again. :D

Oh well, at least it's gonna be two movies! So we can hope some of the really interesting stuff gets to stay in. XD It's 1:00 and a couple seconds afterwards, actually - the part when there's someone (Gellert?) standing with their back turned to the camera, facing a row of people, and... flashes go off from the crowd? It's fairly brief, but keep looking. :D

Glad you think so as well! If there's a consensus, there should be a good chance it's him. XD

I might have said it a while ago, but as Wesker would exclaim - "Impressive!" XD And yay for madness and Sparta and icons. XD

Is it bad that I'm kind of nervous about this? :-S I'm afraid they'll turn him into a one-dimensional villain, or portray his affair with AD as unrequited, or something... *frets*
See you later, instigator: 30StM - Revolution (by blokkengraphics)oudeteron on December 6th, 2009 10:26 pm (UTC)
I think those are pretty legitimate reasons to fret! Honestly, I've always been torn between being worried and excited before a new book or movie came out - sometimes the worry sadly came true, but not every time. I'm hoping they don't force some easy "interpretation" on it, especially in whether or not it was "unrequited love", since JKR hasn't said either way and people need to get that through their thick heads, dammit. (No, I'm not passionate about this at all. XD) As for the villainy, I hope that if they've been able to follow on Voldemort's development, they won't ignore Gellert's because that would be plain lazy. Then again, there's not as much detail on Gellert, so there might be some reason to worry there...
Ramblings of a madman: Gellert dubiousghostangel on December 7th, 2009 03:56 am (UTC)
The thing is, the way that JCB talks about it, he is implying there is a romantic angle to it. If they don't skip the stuff in the book, it will be more or less put in stark spotlight. Since they seem to be intent on pushing the R rating this time around (Re: naked Harry and Hermione horcrux locket scene), I have some hope for this.

...then again, they cut out ALL the context behind Voldemort in HBP so...coins in the air!

I'm horrible at predicting and speculation, but y'know, if it IS Gellert, I'm twice as excited for DH!

I love speculation personally, but I'm with you on the rest! (It would be totally awesome. XD)

I hate to once again rain on the parade, but I have it paused and I have a picture of Campbell Bower up, and I don't think it's Gellert. This guy looks old. I have a picture of Bill Nighy (the actor who's playing Scrimgeour) up too and I'm saying with a little more conviction that it's him. Again because of the hair color, and now because of the age. Also, the subsequent shot, which I take to be the same person. Scrimgeour would be in front of cameras, but why would Gellert? I don't doubt they'll give us a look at him, and I'd rather they'd wait to reveal the cooler stuff later.
See you later, instigator: Adrian - Veidt Securityoudeteron on December 7th, 2009 09:00 pm (UTC)
Not that I don't see your point, but where are you getting the age from? It's a shot from the back... and he's not standing hunched or anything. Anyway, my guess on Gellert is based on the fact that we get this shot just as the voice-over hits the subject of the Hallows, and I was hoping that maybe they'd give us a scene of Gellert still in power, explaining why he would be standing in the spotlight. Sadly (for me XD) the Scrimgeour version works pretty well, too...
Melmo: Galaxiamustntgetmy on December 8th, 2009 03:59 am (UTC)
I had it stopped at 1:00 exactly and it was the shot of the guy with his eyebrow raised and he had huge bags under his eyes, which Campbell Bower doesn't have (and I figure they'd cover up on a younger actor). Cool as it would be to see Gellert in power, I don't think they'd have Campbell Bower portray that and they haven't released the older guy who'll be playing aged!Gellert yet (if they're in fact doing that). It is uber-weird to impose Scrimgeour and the Hallows together since they have zero in common (except Harry) but I'm taking this as more of a sneak peak than a polished trailer.

I sincerely hope, for your sake if no one else's, that Gellert comes out well.

I was already underwhelmed with my favourite character, so it'll be nice for one of us to be satisfied in that department.
See you later, instigator: Luna Seaoudeteron on December 10th, 2009 12:07 am (UTC)
Heh, thank you! If they do young Albus and Gellert justice, I'm willing to forgive a lot that might potentially bother me.

Which one exactly - would I be close with Sirius or Remus?
MissTeacakes: ragemissteacakes on December 10th, 2009 01:14 pm (UTC)
Yeah really.

And both, actually. It was sad that Regulus was better looking than Sirius, although not by much. So I suppose the number goes up to three.

Actually, as far as I can tell, Sirius has seemed to reach a sort of Helen!status when it comes to good looks, so I guess no one would be satisfied, really.
